Hello! My name is Ashley Porter. I am a licensed clinical social worker and board approved clinical social work supervisor (LCSW-S) in the state of Texas. I have extensive experience helping folks work towards feeling more in control of their emotions, their behaviors, and creating a life they actively want to be a part of. I am a strong believer in person-centered care, inclusivity, and meeting clients where they are. If you are looking for a compassionate, collaborative space to work on emotional and/or behavioral concerns, I am happy to help!
I would describe my style as warm, validating, and direct. I do not shy away from hard conversations or from giving feedback that may be needed in the moment - while at the same time, I try my very best to create a safe, supportive environment to discuss your needs, concerns, and goals.
If you've liked what you've read so far, here's a little more about my experience:
I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree with a minor in Psychology at The University of Texas at Arlington. I earned a Master of Social Work degree at Texas State University with a focus on direct clinical practice. I have experience providing therapeutic services at different levels of care including; inpatient, intensive outpatient programming (IOP), and outpatient services (individual as well as group therapy, parent coaching, and family skills training). I am intensively trained in standard Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Radically Open DBT (RO DBT).
